As some people may already know, I’m not the biggest wearer of makeup as I like to keep it quite natural or go without makeup the majority of the time. However, when I do decide to make an effort and paint my face, there are certain products I reach for a lot of the time, and here they are (I’ll also link below where you can buy them from):

Clinique Superbalanced Makeup Foundation (Shade: 03 Ivory):
Now I actually got this from an outlet store near me for £16 (£14.40 if you used 10% student discount) which I thought was amazing considering you can buy it from Clinique for £24. I have combination skin, mainly oily and dry and I feel this foundation just settles on my skin very lightly – not clinging to any dry patches and not enhancing any oily sections. Despite this, the one bad thing is (in my experience) it doesn’t always stay on for the full day and I’ll have had to touch it up once or twice whilst wearing it. I don’t mind doing this as I don’t normally wear makeup for a full day anyway, but this is my definitely my most used foundation.
Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette (Shade: Deep Brown):
I got this from Superdrug only a few months back, as I was stocking up my makeup bag ready for a dance show, I don’t know what I did before using this, it’s the perfect shade for me, stays on throughout the day (including long sweaty dance shows and rehearsals), and it is so small yet lasts so long! The gel I haven’t used as much as the powder and highlighter because I use just a transparent mascara to set my brows, but to keep the strays in line, it definitely works! I’m pretty sure on its own it’s about £8/£9 but there’s bound to be some sort of 3 for 2 or buy one get one half price deal on throughout the year so you’ll always get a good deal on this!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (Original):
I did buy this from the Urban Decay store in London and only got the small travel sized tube as I had never tried it before, and same with the brow palette I can’t understand why I never did. To some people eyeshadow primers seem pointless (they did to me, until I tried them), they work wonders! Occasionally I got this crease on my eyelid where my all eyeshadow would come off and therefore just leave that line, since using this product I’ve not had any issues. Again, it lasts a lifetime, as you only need a tiny swipe on each eye with the applicator, it would take you a while to run out of this. For the price I paid (£9), I would most definitely buy it again and again and again.
Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipsticks (Shades: Shabby Chic, Bittersweet and Birthday Suit):
My sister introduced me to these as she got one in a gift box for Christmas, since getting more into makeup I’ve loved matte liquid lipsticks that stay on throughout the day, because I am extremely lazy and cannot be bothered to top it up after every hour. This range of lipsticks are perfect for my laziness, they could be compared to lip stains although you can get them off (with a bit of a scrub) at the end of the day. The shades I have are all very similar dark nudes and I would love to try some other shades in the future and build up my collection. They are also on the cheaper side (about £5 each) but just as good quality as the high-end makeup.
MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter (Shade: Iridescent Gold)
This I also found through my sister, she kindly gave me it after me struggling to find a highlighter that wasn’t too bold. As I’m more of a fan of natural makeup, highlighters that aren’t too shiny/shimmery are hard to come by, but this is very subtle but still noticeable and also looks really nice against a good contour. It is also on a very cheap budget (£3) and will remain as part of my makeup routine for a very long time.
Maybelline Mascaras – Lash Sensational AND The Colossal Volume Express (Black):
Now I couldn’t decide which I preferred better so I’m choosing both, mascara being the only thing I probably wear daily, I have plenty to choose from. I started off using The Colossal just by chance as I had run out of which ever I was using previously and just nipped into a shop and bought the first one I picked up (pretty lucky hu?). The boldness and fullness it creates on your lashes is amazing, it lifts your lashes and gives the effect that you’re wearing false lashes without the annoying procedure of applying them. The Lash Sensational I bought on an offer when Zoella was promoting it all over social media, and because in the past (for me) she’s never been wrong with a recommendation on makeup, I bought it and have no regrets, it’s effects are very similar to that of the Colossal however with a different applicator (which in a rush is a lot easier), I am not all that fussy with applicators for mascaras as long as they are quite plumpy, so I now alternate between these two mascaras.

E.L.F Eyeshadow Palettes (Nude Rose Gold, Need it Nude, Everyday Smokey, Mad for Matte)
I have only recently bought these and was planning on doing a whole post dedicated to them (some sort of review – let me know if you want that). But I had to firstly add them into this post as the first day I used them, I was in love. All the colours, shades etc were beautiful and so pristine I didn’t want to touch them, but as one has to do, I used the Nude Rose Gold palette first and from then on I haven’t used any other eyeshadow palettes I own apart from these 4.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor (Shade: Passion):
As you know, I love matte liquid lipsticks so when I saw this in the shop I couldn’t help but try it, it gives a silky smooth texture on your lip (despite taking a while to dry), and does last pretty much the whole day. It’s still on the cheap side although being more expensive than the Sleek range, but I would also love to expand my collection of this range too because some of the shade’s swatches are too beautiful not to have in my makeup collection.
Special Mention: Estee Lauder Signature Lipstick (Shade: 09 Venetian Rose):
This I got given from my mum a long time ago (and have no idea how much it cost – guessing not cheap), and to this day do still use however I struggle to find somewhere to buy it from as it’s been discontinued. Which is why I was unsure of whether to include it or not, but how can I not include something that I use so often! It gives this creamy texture on your lips and is so hydrating, it does however come off after a few hours but I’m unsure of whether that’s because it’s an old one and has been left in places that it’s seen bit too much sun (therefore melted a few times). But, this is one of my favourites so if anyone does manage to find somewhere I can restock it from, you’d be my hero!
