Thoughts on Going into 3rd Year and Graduation.

Having completed my induction and having the start date of my final year of education and graduation is looming, my thoughts, feelings and emotions are heightened. I have been thinking a lot about how I’m feeling as I enter 3rd year and near on my graduation. Thought I’d express it all to you all in hopes to re-assure others that could potentially be in a similar (if not same) circumstance to myself that we’re not alone.

A Day in the Life at Dance School.

I’ve been thinking about doing this post for a while, in fact I first had the thought about writing it back in my first year but I put it off as I knew my blog wasn’t really aimed at or focusing on dance, however I am trying to change that and write more about dance because, as a lifestyle blogger, that is my lifestyle.

My Stay Sassy Journey so far….

Where do I begin…. I’ve posted on here before about Stay Sassy, I wrote a blog post after my first ever event back in February 2018 which I’ll link here. If you’re a bit confused or want a refresher on what #StaySassy is I’d recommend you go read that first. It’s now October 2019 and I just attended my 10th event and my gosh was it one to remember.

My 4 years of being in 1st year.

So the day has finally come, after three years at college (2 of which being 1st year) and now two long gruelling years of being a 1st year Uni student and Dance school student, I can finally say my 2nd year has arrived! I wrote a post at the beginning of summer called ‘University wasn’t for me..So I chose dance school!‘ and that kind of explains my University Vs Dance School drama. Having just moved in to my new flat in Leicester ready to take on my 2nd year at Dance school, I’m going to write about my numerous times of being a first year student.

How I went from University to Dance School!

After completing a year at ‘Addict Dance Academy’, I am now set on knowing where I want to be in my training. And it’s here. At Addict! Not university.

I started university in September 2017 at De Montfort University, studying a BA Hons in Dance. Now having received an unconditional offer I was super excited to start training, expecting it to be quite full on and physically intense. Now my previous sentence describes that of full time dance school and not university. Continue reading “How I went from University to Dance School!”

What have I been up to?

As many of you know or don’t know.. I dance, a lot. I’m currently at University studying BA Hons Dance at DMU (Leicester) but I love attending as many auditions, workshops, intensives and classes as possible. To build up my experience, knowledge and to just enjoy dancing.

I went to an “Audition/Try-out” on Sunday 31st March in Birmingham for a big event that would be happening mid-April in city centre of Birmingham. I was successful and so were a few others I knew who also auditioned, our first rehearsals were just under a week later on Friday 6th April, then we found out a lot more about the event that we were partaking in. Stay Sassy Event!

SUNDAY 18TH FEB, KAREN HARDY DANCE STUDIOS, LONDON.

This was one of the best days of my life. I walked into a dance studio feeling shy, low self-esteem and nervous for the day ahead. I walked out of that same studio feeling sassy, powerful and ready to take on the entire world. All thanks to Steph Elswood and her amazing team (including her stunning mum, Sue! And her talented best friend Lottie!) Continue reading “Stay Sassy Event!”
