So as of now I’ve been blogging for 2 months and 7 days, so I thought I’d write a post about my experience so far because although it hasn’t been long, I’ve learnt so much which I feel I should share with the people I learnt it from. You.
The first thing that I noticed when I started up my blog was the amount of decisions to be made, not just what to write, but what theme and colour and font you want on your blog, how many menus you want, if there is a ‘read more‘ line etc… this was when I first realised it’s not as simple as I thought.
Once I’d made all those decisions (which trust me, took forever), it was on to creating. I had all these ideas for blog posts and as I was writing my little posts to introduce myself (About Me), I started to realise that there is so much more to writing a post and clicking publish; a header, tags, categories, title, disclosures, links, photos etc. Did you realise there was so much to it?
My first post went live! I sat and waited in anticipation for it someone to view it. I got 1 view, then 2, then 3 and an hour later 15 people had viewed it. I was officially a blogger. Although I know 15 people viewing one post will be next to nothing to some people but my first post has now got over 100 views which doesn’t line up right in my head, how can 100 people want to know who I am and read my posts, but they do!
I started making more little changes to my blog’s appearance and began writing a load of drafts, ready to schedule (which made me feel super professional and organised). By the end of that day I had written my first 3 posts, not the best I’ve written, but hey, it’s all a learning curve.
Since starting my blog I’ve gained over 600 twitter followers, 100+ blog followers, 2000+ blog post views in total and over 1000 individual visitors to my blog which I think is insane! I am so happy to be apart of such a support, creative group of people and knowing what can be achieved makes me even more determined to make great content and share it with as many as I can.
Thank you for all the kind words, support and feedback I’ve received since setting my blog up. I hope you liked the little update and I look forward to all the exciting adventures my blog goes through throughout the near future. Keep an eye out 😉
