2022 Goals.

So I know this is extremely late to the game with posting our 2022 goals, however I’m holding myself accountable! As explained in my last post I’ve been quite busy with life and not had much time to sit and write blog posts but I promise I am going to try harder. There is a PT Diaries post coming soon but to follow with chronological order on here I thought I’d publish this one first! So without further ado, a list of my 2022 goals…

|GOALS|

  • Improve my 5k time to hit under 30mins. (I’m actually running 5k every month to help with this, so at the end of the year I’ll have ran 60k!)
  • Run 10k in 1 hour.
  • Hit 150kg Hip Thrusts. (Before 2022 I was at 80kg!)
  • Find something to be grateful for everyday.
  • Complete my Level 3 GP Referral Course. (This is my next step now I am fully qualified PT)
  • Journal & Meditate at least once a month.
  • Go on a holiday abroad. (Wrote these goals back in Dec 2021, not realising that this would be complete in Feb 2022… I can do this goal over and over again!)

As always, these are only a few goals of mine for the year and I do write a mega-list of goals in all aspects of my life for the year (business, personal, fitness and health, self-improvement etc) and so that one is a bit more bulky and in depth.

What are some of your goals this year? Are any already complete or nearly done?

I’d love to hear!

Thank you as always for reading!

Wow it’s been a while!

Un-intentionally I took 2 months off this blog; writing, planning, editing, brainstorming etc and this is my first blog post of 2022, which originally was going to be my 2022 goals (that will be next!) so I thought I’d just have a catch up. Been a very busy few months with life; my new business taking off, uptake of hours I am working, Christmas, New Year, My Birthday and a Trip to Prague have all happened in the time I have been away.

I spent my birthday with my boyfriend in which he’d planned the entire day for me (full day of activities), including; couple’s massage, afternoon tea, axe-throwing (highly recommend!), mini golf and an evening meal with my family too! Couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend it!

The trip to Prague was a surprise birthday present from my boyfriend to go with him and his family, we had such an amazing time, saw all the sights, walked 20k steps a day (active holidays!) and made some lovely memories I will cherish. I’d highly recommend taking a trip to Prague, we only went for 5 days and that was in my opinion the perfect amount of time, any shorter you’d have missed a few bits and any longer would have felt like it was dragging. Despite our flight back to the UK being delayed due to the THREE storms in the UK we missed whilst away, the whole trip was exactly what I wanted for my first trip post-covid!

Soon there will be a PT Diaries update as a lot has happened since the last one, I’ve just been so busy I’ve not had chance to update you but it is coming I promise! Hope everyone is doing well and excited for this year ahead. 2022 has something about it that is providing me with a lot of positivity and hope for the future. If you’re wanting to keep more up-to-date or just be nosey – I’m over on Instagram at @hannahkayfitness

Thank you for sticking with me over the last few months of dodgy upload times etc and as always,

Thanks for reading,

Han xx

Reviewing my 2021 Goals…

Here we are, at the end of 2021 and what a year it has been. I’m not here to state the obvious but I can imagine it’s once again not been the year we expected, despite this I personally (and hope you have too!) have learnt a lot in this past year; about myself, others, society and life in general. It doesn’t always go to plan, and that’s okay.

At the beginning of the year I wrote a list of goals I had for 2021 and you guessed it, I’m here – holding myself accountable – to review those goals and see how I got on. I will say, in the blog post I only wrote 10 out of the many I had written down ‘offline’ so those 10 weren’t all my goals for the year ahead but they were the majority and main ones. So without further ado…

40 Journal Prompts for All Occasions

I haven’t been the most active in posting blog posts recently, but I thought I’d do a post that has been a long time in the pipeline. One thing I have been doing more often in my life is journaling, self-reflection and intention-setting. I’ve journaled for many years now on and off, mainly when someone else has introduced me to it or within a workshop or class I have done, however I started journaling more consistently back at the beginning of Lockdown in March 2020 and it is a habit that I said I’d continue long after the pandemic is over. I personally find it harder to talk and speak out loud about things so my way of getting it ‘off my chest’ or ‘out of my head’ is through writing (if you couldn’t tell!).

It’s Time to Refresh your Walls

*this blog post contains gifted products from Poster Store*

So before I get started, I will say I moved back home from graduating in summer and have not really made much effort with making my room at home look aesthetically pleasing as I am out of the house that much, I barely see it.

Poster Store kindly reached out to me and offered to send me some posters and frames from their website to help decorate my room. In no way am I claiming to be an interior designer and as you will see I didn’t get them all to match, however I do love new additions to my furnishings in my room, especially posters and quotes in which I can look at everyday.

PT Diaries: The Grind Never Stops.

So I know it’s been a while since I posted about the journey to becoming a PT, but it’s also been a while since I posted on my blog in general. Life has taken over! As I discussed in the most recent post ‘I’ve been busy…’ I have started working at a health club near where I live as a Fitness Instructor (this means doing gym inductions, teaching classes and being on the gym floor interacting with the members and maintaining the gym). I’ve had the question so much over the past few months of ‘So what’s next’ as I’m sure a lot of other graduates have had and coming from 4 years of professional dance training, I understand it was expected that I’d come out of dance school and fall straight into a dance job.

I’ve been busy…

Wow, what a month. I haven’t published a blog post on here in over a month, the last post uploaded was the ‘It doesn’t feel real…‘ post and guess what, it still doesn’t. I find myself living in this post-graduation bubble in where I have barely any sense of routine, trying to be as social as I can to catch up with friends and family I haven’t seen or spoken to in a while and also settle back into living at home with my family.

It doesn’t feel real…

So I’ve finished. I’ve completed my BA Hons Degree, in a global pandemic. As many of you might know I have been studying a degree in Dance Performance at Addict Dance Academy in Leicester for the past 3 years, and it has now come to an end, but because of the pandemic and restrictions, it doesn’t feel real. We have finished filming our graduation virtual show that airs in July but aside from that, no ball dresses, no cap & gown, no holding the scroll and getting our photo taken. YET. Our dance school has been very fortunate to be able to keep going in these uncertain times and the amount of training I’ve managed to get in my final year despite being in a pandemic, has been impressive. It’s now nearing the date of me moving out of my Leicester flat and leaving my student life behind, and I can’t help but feel emotional and reflective of both the past 3 years at Addict and also the past 4 years I’ve lived in Leicester.
